How to find us

Arrival by car

All motorways to Berlin lead to the Berliner Ring (A10). From there you can get to the inner city on various access roads. But pay attention at the fact that parking capacities in the city center are limited! So please take into account your transfer to the conference building. Parking decks in the immediate vicinity are located on Dorotheenstraße or Bebelplatz.

Arrival by train

Berlin is easily reached from all directions by rapid InterCityExpress, InterCity, EuroCity and Interregio trains. The central station Berlin Hauptbahnhof is located in the city center. The nearest station to the conference site is Friedrichstraße, which you can reach within a few minutes by public transport.

Arrival by plane

Berlin Tegel Airport is the main international airport in Berlin. It is situated 5 km distant from the western and 8 km from the eastern center. The airport is linked by several bus lines, which offer connection to the metro: The bus 109 runs within 20 minutes to Jakob-Kaiser Platz (U7) and the bus 128 runs within 10 minutes to Kurt-Schumacher-Platz (U6). The most favorable bus connection to the conference venue is JetExpressBus TXL, which runs to Berlin Hauptbahnhof.

Berlin Schönefeld Airport is situated in the southeast of Berlin. The AirportExpress Schönefeld is the fastest way to the city center. There is also a special regional train (RE7 or RB14) that runs every half hour from Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld through central Berlin to Spandau. En route, it stops at Ostbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Hauptbahnhof and Zoologischer Garten. It will take you about 30 minutes to reach Friedrichstraße. You also have the possibility to take the SFX1, which is a fast express bus service running from Schönefeld to Südkreuz at the price of 6 euro. An alternative is taking the S-Bahn train S 45 or S9 as well as different regional trains.

Public Transport

Please note that the ticket for the conference does not include the public transport. On the homepage of the Berliner Historikertag you will receive information about the Berlin Welcome Card. It offers a public transport ticket for unlimited travel on 3 or 5 days in Berlin and Potsdam and great savings on cultural highlights.

City Map

After your registration you will receive a city map for a better orientation. It includes useful information about Berlin's public transport.
