Download iCal

As part of a guided tour, the complex of the former district headquarters of the State Security Service of the GDR will be explored. With the new buildings of the 1980s, the surveillance apparatus occupied an extensive area in the city center, which is considered the nucleus of Leipzig. Today, it provides the last major development area in the city center. The future of the site is currently the subject of controversial debates on questions of commemorative policy as well as architectural culture.
