As an alternative to the previous History Slam, a new format will be presented in Leipzig, which still allows doctoral students to present their research topics while initiating an atmosphere of conversation and laughter among historians. With this interactive format, curiosity, humor, and knowledge acquisition can be combined in a short, concise, and witty way. Compared to the History Slam, a variety of different works and various areas and sub-disciplines of historical research can be presented in teasers. Additionally, the competitive pressure among doctoral students can be reduced in favor of a cooperative game, promoting networking and collaboration. Finally, it is expected that this format will initiate further conversations among participants and promote forms of humor that do not rely on discriminatory stereotypes. The Pub Quiz thus combines various goals and is an excellent transition between a busy conference day and the party following the quiz.
