Two lectures on historiography and aesthetic evaluation in European music history.

Stefan Keym (Leipzig): "Fact or event - how is music history created?" using the example of the construction of Viennese Classicism.
Wolfgang Fuhrmann (Leipzig): "Deceptive sources, fragile value judgments - how to write music history?" using the example of the Late Middle Ages.

Optionally, a tour of the Museum of Musical Instruments at the University of Leipzig, one of the most significant collections in the world, will follow.
