Guided Tour: Bach-Museum Leipzig
The Bach Museum Leipzig is located on Thomaskirchhof in the historic Bosehaus, opposite the Thomaskirche.
The guided tour includes visits to the permanent exhibition, the special exhibition (on the 300th anniversary of Bach's inauguration as Leipzig's music director in 1723), and the treasury, where valuable original music manuscripts and early prints of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, portraits of composers from the Bach family, and instruments of their time are shown.
The life story of Johann Sebastian Bach, his family, his musical ancestors, and his work in Leipzig in the context of his time are the focus of the exhibition.
Prior to the tour (at 2:00 p.m.), a presentation of rare collections, along with an insight into the methods of Bach research and digitalization of research data and sources, will take place in the historic "Sommersaal" located right next to the Bach Museum.
