Assembly and workshop of doctoral candidates

Download iCal

As part of a workshop (approximately from 10am to 12:30pm), all doctoral candidates and students (regardless of VHD membership) who are pursuing a doctorate are invited to contribute topics related to the structural and systemic aspects of the doctoral process. Aspects and challenges such as the financing of the doctorate, multiple dependencies in supervision and employment relationships, or mental health will be addressed in a World Café format.

The subsequent assembly of doctoral candidates (approximately from 12:30pm to 1pm) gives all participants of the conference who are pursuing a doctorate in the field of history the opportunity to propose a representative of the doctoral candidates for the new election of the VHD committee at the VHD general meeting (Friday morning). In addition to nominating candidates for the VHD committee, there will also be a report on the association's work by Kathrin Meißner, who currently represents the doctoral candidates in the VHD committee and will not run for re-election.

The meeting offers an opportunity for exchange and networking and will be held in a hybrid format (mainly the assembly). For inquiries in advance, please contact promovierende@historikerverband.de.
