SUMMARY:[Historikertag 2023] The fragile on photos. Guided tour through the exhibition “Jewish Album”
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition showcases selected photographs by Rita Ostrovska which document places of traditional Jewish life in Ukraine and their transformations due to the massive emigration of Jews in the 1990s. Furthermore, the artist captured the lives of Jewish immigrants after their arrival in the USA, Israel and Germany with her camera. In 2001, she photographed her own departure from Ukraine, her family's journey and their arrival in Kassel.
Another tour will be offered on Tuesday, September 19th from 11:00-12:00 PM.
This event is not barrier-free.
