DESCRIPTION:How did housing shape living conditions and social interaction among people in the past? What ideas about society are evident in the housing policies of previous decades? In this interactive section, participants of the Federal President's History Competition 2022/2023 present their creative research results. They will discuss with historian Christoph Bernhardt (Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography in Erkner near Berlin) about the development of housing in East and West Germany since the post-war period.
Beyond this section, students are warmly invited to participate in further subject sections of the Historikertag in the afternoon.
