SUMMARY:[Historikertag 2023] Global Historical Perspectives in History Education! Between Subject-Specific Knowledge, History Didactics and Classroom practice
DESCRIPTION:German history curricula are still structured in a national-historical and Eurocentric way. They lack a binding orientation towards the historical competencies that are essential for dealing with the complex dynamics of globalization and global crises in the present, as well as their impact on students' experiences. Therefore, the upcoming development of curricula requires intensive cooperation between subject experts, history didactics and teaching experts to appropriately anchor the previously missing world-regional and global-historical content in the curricula and in teacher education and training. In this context, this section focuses on a central but so far little-noticed level of the desired reform process: the perspectives and experiences of central actors in the process of developing global historical concepts for teaching. The analysis of actor-specific experience values promises important insights for further interprofessional cooperation with the aim of developing practicable scenarios for strengthening global historical perspectives. To bring together the various positions, relevant experts will discuss the following central questions:

a) What specific challenges do relevant historical experts face in developing world-regional and global historical contributions to teaching practice?
b) What does it mean for history teachers with a traditional education to develop global historical perspectives for teaching?
c) Are there practical history didactic concepts for implementing global historical perspectives into national historical history curricula?
d) How can history curricula be redesigned to meet the aforementioned requirements?
